Backing up the the 122,000 acre Holy Cross Wilderness Area, Fox Crossing Ranch is truly an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. Surrounded on three sides by National Forest, and yet accessible year round via paved county roads, this property is truly unique to Lake County. The 147 deeded acres consist of a combination of tall timber and sub irrigated meadow. Approximately one half mile of both sides of the Lake Fork Creek flow through the property, in addition to the same length of Colorado Gulch Creek. With private access to the world renowned Colorado Trail, the ranch is the gateway to hundreds of  thousands of acres of high country wilderness.

Prime elk habitat abounds, with herds migrating to and from the high country according to the seasons. The lush meadows also see elk herds raising their calves throughout the summer months. In addition, deer, bear, pine martin, mountain lion and, naturally, foxes, make their home in and around Fox Crossing Ranch.

Given the property's extensive riparian habitat, neighboring public land and significant wildlife habitat, Fox Crossing Ranch would make an ideal property for consideration for a conservation easement.
