Fox Crossing Ranch is an outdoor enthusiasts paradise. With a combination of live water, sub irrigated meadow, tall timber, and easy, private access to the Colorado Trail and Holy Cross Wilderness Area, the possibilities are plentiful.
For fishermen, approximately one half mile of Lake Fork Creek flows through the property, offering classic high country small stream and beaver pond fishing. Ten minutes away are the Gold Medal waters of the Arkansas River, one of Colorado's premier wild brown trout fisheries. Virtually every major drainage in the state is available within 1 - 3 hours drive.
For hunters and photographers, wildlife abounds on the property. Elk migrate through in early winter, and the property's meadows are summer range for elk cows and calves. Mule deer are year round residents, while bear, wildcats, pine marten, foxes and beaver are also found.
For horse lovers, the ranch is perfectly set up and located. From comfortable day horseback rides over rolling meadow to overnight horse packing in the high country, Fox Crossing Ranch offers excellent opportunities. Current facilities include a 3200 square foot barn, loafing sheds and fenced meadow providing ample shelter and range for up to 15 horses.
In the wintertime, Fox Crossing Ranch accesses miles of maintained and back country trails right out your door for skiing and snow shoeing. There are several ski areas for downhill skiing within one hour, including Ski Cooper, Vail, Copper Mountain and Monarch Mountain.
If hiking, birding, wildlife watching and mountain biking are more to your tastes, then enjoy private access to the Colorado Trail, which follows the Continental Divide throughout Colorado. The opportunities to hike and bike through pristine wilderness are unlimited.
