Fox Crossing ranch lies at the head of the Arkansas River Valley, ten minutes for the city of Leadville, Colorado. The ranch’s 142 acres consist of approximately 80 acres of sub-irrigated meadow, with the balance being in tall timber, most commonly lodge pole pine, with some stands of aspen.

The ranch is bordered on three sides by National Forest and Bureau of Land Management lands. Two streams flow through the property. Lake Fork Creek is a classic high country small stream, with beaver ponds and willow-clad banks, holding plentiful brown and brook trout, with the occasional rainbow thrown in for good measure. Colorado Gulch tumbles out of the steeper portion of the property to the west. As it joins the Lake Fork, it flows through the horse meadow, providing ample access to water for livestock.
A private trail connects hikers and horse packers to the Colorado Trail to the west of the property. The Colorado Trail is nationally renowned, and in turn provides access to countless recreational opportunities in tens of thousands of acres of public land – high lakes, hunting, fishing and both the Holy Cross and Collegiate Peaks Wilderness Areas.
Wildlife is abundant on the ranch and its surrounds. Elk and deer migrate regularly through the area, and part of the ranch is frequently used by elk for calving and raising their young. Additionally, foxes, coyotes, bears and wild cats call this area home.
The conservation values of the property are significant, meaning it would make a prime candidate for a conservation easement.
